La Ceiba, is located on the Caribbean shore, it is the third largest city in Honduras, and its name comes from an old Ceiba tree (sacred to some native cultures) that provided shade at the current First Street and Main Avenue convergence. It is considered the eco tourism capital because of the majestic beauty and attractions that range from the beaches, raging streams to the top of the Pico Bonito peak rising to 8,000 feet for a dramatic backdrop of the city It is a modern city with wide streets and a practical layout giving easy access to spots of interest, has a good hotel infrastructure, a tradition of hospitality and an pleasant atmosphere paired with the warmth and joyful nature of its people.
Day 1: Welcome to La Ceiba, ecotourism capital of the country, after settling at the hotel you’ll take a tour through town in the Train of Joy, visiting parks and public squares that highlight our natural beauties with the many plants, the City Market, the oldest church in town and several historical buildings. Day 2: : Today you will experience and enjoy rafting down the raging and exciting Class III and IV rapid of the Cangrejal River, located only 30 minutes from La Ceiba. The rafting trip includes instruction on the use the raft, security gear, vests and helmets. There will be a short hike along the river. Breakfast included. Night Accommodation.
Day 3: After a tasty breakfast, enjoy a leisurely hike through trails up the Pico Bonito National Park only 20 minutes from La Ceiba. The lush tropical rainforest and the many clear water streams will cool you as your guide interprets the eco system along the hike. It is easy to spot birds, reptiles and insects. Because of the mammal nocturnal habits they are harder to find. Don’t forget you bathing suit, binoculars and camera. On you return you will have the afternoon off to walk around town. Day 4: After your breakfast, transfer to International Airport according to flight schedule.
Day 1: Meet and greet, transfer to hotel.
Day 2-3: Days to enjoy at your leisure, you can arrange and Schedule activities as you go along.
